Dr. Sumeet Arora age 36, is a senior technical advisor to WeInnovate biosolutions. At University of South Alabama, he has been involved in multiple projects revolving around the treatment and prevention of pancreatic and skin malignancies. His areas of specialization include advanced drug delivery systems, cancer biology and Nano medical technologies. Considering the novelty of his findings on silver nanoparticles and potential human applications, he filed a U.S. patent. Dr. Arora's career thus far has resulted in an impressive number of highly cited peer-reviewed articles published in high-impact journals, including The Journal of Biological Chemistry, Nanomedicine, Molecular Pharmaceutics and Carcinogenesis. This is made even more impressive when one considers a total of 1580 citations for his publications in the short period of seven years since he published his first article. He has even authored two book chapters that further prove his knowledge about the subject. Moreover, Dr. Arora has extensive experience performing review work for scientific journals. Overall, Dr. Arora has reviewed over 80 manuscripts for 20 different journals. Journals are very selective about whom they choose to act as reviewer—they desire to employ the knowledge and expertise of an experienced professional who can be considered an authority on the topic at hand. In addition to being solicited to perform review work, he works on the Editorial Board of the Medicine, Frontiers in Non-coding RNA, Annals of Pharma Research, and Genesis Journal.
Dr. Arora has a diverse educational background. In the year 2000, Dr. Arora received his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Punjabi University in Patiala, India. He then went on to earn his Master of Science in Biotechnology from Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, India in 2003. He was awarded with a preeminent Research Fellowship by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, Government of India) for his doctoral (Ph.D.) studies and he started to work toward his Ph.D. at the Center for Nano bioscience in the Agharkar Research Institute of Pune University in India. There, his main focus was "Mechanistic studies on interactions of silver nanoparticles with animal cells in vitro," and he graduated in 2009. Also in 2009, Dr. Arora worked as a Scientist at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in Mohali, India on the project "Facility development for toxicity screening of nanoparticles used for drug delivery and to elucidate mechanism of action." From 2009 to 2010, Dr. Arora worked as an Assistant Professor at the Indo Soviet College of Pharmacy where he taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students while also conducting research on the anti-cancer potential of chemical entities.
